Some treatment centers provide services for men, women, and teens at the same location. While this is perfectly normal for men and women to recover together it is important to have the 2 genders separated while in treatment. This is true especially in the early stages of treatment because the emotional state of new patients is usually not very stable.
When talking with the intake director or coordinator please be sure to ask if they house male and female clients in the same facility. You can decide for yourself if you think their housing situation is right for you. Intervention America has seen success with both arrangements during treatment for drug and alcohol abuse. However, we prefer that male and female clients be housed separately during the first 30 days of therapy or treatment.
There are many facilities to choose from in our directory, so you are sure to find one that is right for you. If you need help finding a location for yourself or a loved one, please call our hotline or send us an email on our contact us page.
